The SCOOTER Store Expands Power Mobility Network with Grand Opening of Columbia Retail Showroom

Columbia, SC, June 27, 2007— The SCOOTER Store, the nation's largest supplier of power wheelchairs and scooters, hosted the grand opening of a new retail showroom today in Columbia. Moving from a previous location in Charleston, SC, the new and expanded retail showroom will continue its tradition of improving the quality of life for seniors and other people living with disabilities by providing power mobility equipment.

The store, which is located at 1400 Pineview Drive in Columbia, will be an important resource for the community as well as the state. The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by members of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce along with others from the medical and business community. In addition, representatives from the Sheriff's department were also on hand discussing safety and crime prevention for seniors and people with limited mobility.

"We are excited about the opportunity to further expand our products and services in the state of South Carolina. It is important to have a store that is centrally located where people throughout the state can come in to learn about or even obtain power mobility equipment and other healthcare products," said Dave Mason, the manager of the new store." As a member of this community, we will provide important educational information to area residents on the importance of power mobility and what options are available to help improve the quality of life of their loved ones."

In addition to power wheelchairs and scooters, the store will provide a broad range of healthcare products including lift chairs, bath and safety items, rollators and other therapeutic devices. Moreover, The SCOOTER Store will assist customers and physicians with insurance paperwork and continue to provide local and state-wide in-home customer service.

"We are pleased to offer power mobility products and services from all of our retail stores across the country," said Bill Sisoian, Executive Vice President of Sales for The SCOOTER Store. "We have an obligation to better educate seniors and people with disabilities on how power mobility can be a viable alternative to improve their quality of life. Our retail stores allow customers to test mobility equipment and see if it is the right healthcare solution for them. Our goal first and foremost is to help people regain their freedom, independence and dignity by giving them more mobility."
